General
Trainee Center Managers (TCM) report to the Branch Manager and are
responsible for organizing and training new members, the formation of
new borrower groups, and the supervision of weekly meetings to receive
and review loan proposals, collect repayments and savings, and record
attendance records.
Duties and Responsibilities
Administrative:
- Review loan proposals from borrowers and endorse to Branch Manager for further processing;
- Keep daily accounts to record and monitor loan disbursement, interest collection, recovery, and savings deposits;
- Collect loan payments and savings deposits from borrowers during center meetings for deposit it to the servicing Bank on the same day.
Managerial:
- Conduct and oversee weekly center meetings (typically 2 each day, 5 days each week);
- Provide recommendations to the Branch Manager for loan disbursements to qualified borrowers;
- Monitor borrowers for appropriate utilization of loans;
- Motivate borrowers to repay loans in a timely manner, make deposits, and attend center meetings regularly;
- Organize special meetings to overcome repayment difficulties faced by borrowers.
Developmental:
- Conduct regular training sessions to familiarize borrowers with the rules, regulations, and policies of the Grameen America program;
- Recruit new borrowers.
Qualifications
- Strong commitment to working with the poor, especially women;
- Good leadership qualities and ability to motivate people;
- Minimum high school (post-secondary) diploma or equivalent, but Bachelor’s degree preferred.
