Grameen America currently has operations in New York and Nebraska. Grameen America could open in Washington DC when the necessary start-up capital is raised.

Earlier this week, President Obama pledged to aid American small businesses with loans and dramatic tax benefits. A big part of the plan is a tax incentive for business owners to hire new workers in the coming months.

Happy Grameen America Day! Thanks to everyone who braved the cold last night and made it out to Dupont Circle to celebrate with us. I hope to see all of yesterday's new faces again at the next event! Grameen America Day was dreamed up as a way to raise awareness and encourage excitement about our work, through lots of small events hosted in cities all over the US. We had a great time at Maddy's, raising a (well-poured!) glass to all that we've accomplished so far, and all that we dream of doing in the future. Thanks for all your hard work, Grameenies! Keep spreading the word :)

During the holiday season, we hear reports about Black Friday, monthly economic indicators, and consumer spending. We analyze the competitiveness of Fortune 500 companies, whether Asia is buying US goods, which products are hot this holiday season.

Come see our volunteers try their hand as guest bartenders! We'll be pouring beers and mixing drinks at Maddy's alongside the pro's. In exchange for our hard work behind the bar, we will receive 5% of the proceeds that are brought in between 6-9 p.m. and any tips will go towards Grameen America in Washington, DC.
