The announcement comes following Grameen America’s recent launch in Omaha, Nebraska, and as Yunus, who is often referred to as the “father of microcredit,” prepares to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom at a White House ceremony this afternoon.

On Wednesday, June 24th, Whole Foods Market will donate 5% of net sales from all five of its Manhattan stores to Grameen America. All purchases that day, at any Manhattan Whole Foods Market location, will count towards the donation.
